Theo Canham-Spence is a contemporary dance artist based in London who is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Dance Movement Psychotherapy. His artistic work and research are profoundly influenced by his evolving practice in DMT, as he explores the complexities of emotional and embodied lived experiences. A primary focus of his exploration is the role of movement as a catalyst for articulation, understanding, and expression. Central to his inquiry is the question: “What is the difference between being moved and choosing to move?”
Theo trained at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, graduating in 2016. From 2018 to 2019, he toured with Robyn during her Honey World Tour. Since 2020, he has focused on working with individuals with special needs, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). His experience includes both educational settings and private one-on-one support for individuals ranging from primary school age to young adults. Currently, Theo is undertaking a work placement in his first year at i can dance, alongside his ongoing training.
