About the Practice

This is a movement-based, improvisational practice that weaves together somatic exploration, drawing, writing, and reflection to deepen awareness of how the body holds and expresses emotion.

Central to the practice is the question: “What is the difference between movement and dance?”

Grounded in Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP) theory, but not yet clinical in nature, this practice offers a space that is explorative, dynamic and deeply reflective. Through mindful movement and embodied expression, participants are invited to meet both hidden and familiar parts of themselves with curiosity and care.

Through movement, feelings are discovered.
Through writing, they are acknowledged.
Through form, they are materialised.

This practice values process over product, and invites a gentle attention to presence, vitality, and personal insight. Movement informs language, awareness, and expression, creating a dialogue between body, image, and word.

It is suitable for creative workshops, improvisation teaching, collaborative projects, and wellbeing or team-building sessions for organisations.
